January 3d -22th 2017

Here are highlights of what’s in store for this, when organizers of the 12 major live performing arts festivals and industry gatherings comprising “January In NYC” bring what’s new, trending, thoughtful and exciting in music, dance, theater, opera and the performing arts field to New York!
3-taylor-mac-act-3 Every January in New York City, more than 45,000 industry professionals and enthusiasts come together to experience the most comprehensive celebration of the performing arts around the globe. This January 3-22, a dozen events organized by leading arts organizations will spotlight the best and newest in theater, dance, opera and music. With more than 1,500 world-class showcases and full-length performances, concerts and public programs, conferences, keynote speakers, professional development and networking opportunities, the partnership of public festivals and industry events, January In NYC demonstrates how rich, vibrant, vast and diverse the performing arts are.

2-taylor-mac-act-3 “There is an electricity in the air the moment all of these performing arts professionals and festival-goers descend upon the streets, clubs, performance spaces and conference hotels of New York during the first few weeks of January,” said Mario Garcia Durham, president and CEO of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP).

4-taylor-mac-quick January In NYC grew organically as live arts festivals and professional events were scheduled around the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference (APAP;NYC), which will celebrate 60 years in 2017. Organizers of events built onto the concentration of artists and presenters already traveling to New York. In January 2014, nine such organizations formed a deliberate collaboration to more effectively and efficiently serve the performing arts community. A dozen groups now comprise the partnership.
